    Two type errors as below were found in the MGD77 data being provided from J-DOSS. JODC amended all error data and renewed datain the MGD77.
    1. One type error was data (file starting with a survey IDs "HM9" ans "HT8") observed by survey vessel "MEIYO" and "TAKUYO" belonged to JCG in the period of 1986 through 1996. Because the was input shifting the geomagnetism data by one column.
    2. Another type error was data (file starting with a survey ID "JARE") observed by the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE) in the period of 1985 through 1992. Bathymetry value was input in the column of the turnaround time of sound wave.
    Those who are using the data which falls under the table below are requested to download again from J-DOSS for renewal.

    Catalog of Layer Depth Range Data
    About the sereal stations data (water sampling, STD, CTD, BT etc.), a station figure was created to know where it is observed by every observation instrument and by every observation items. There are two kinds of stations figures, one is an observation distribution chart which plotted the station and the other is the station displayed in an integer or color scale the station within the mesh. The zone of the world is divided by a 10-degree mesh, and the sea near Japan are divided by 1-degree mesh.
    Statistical Chart of Water Temperature and Salinity
    Statistical chart of the water temperature and salinity was created with using JODC data. It displays the average of all years and everymonth at 33 standard layer depth range observation by classification by color. Moreover, the average distribution chart of sea surface temperature is displayed from 1900 to 2001.

    J-DOSS data has become possible to provide in ODV spreadsheet and NetCDF format. JODC has been providing data in the standard format named the FETI (Format Exchange Translation for Integration) in the past, in order to meet the request of the user (visualization of data and easiness, etc) JODC has now started to provide data in the [ODV spreadsheet] and the [NetCDF format].
    1. ODV spreadsheet : This is a data format corresponding to ODV. As each data item is separated in tab, it is possible to incorporate it into Excal.
      * ODV stands for [Ocean Data View] and is the visualization software developed by Alfred Wegener Institute in Germany.
    2. NetCDF (Network Common Data Form) : This is an interface for array-oriented data access developed by the unidata Program Center in United States.
    In addition, in the provision by the ODV spreadsheet, there is aproblem in which information being provided with FETI is missed. As some defective points remain in the ODV spreadsheet and NetCDF file, we would appreciate to receiving your opinions and requests, etc to jodc@jodc.go.jp.

    The attribute information of the past sea level data (hourly sea level height) has been posted by the calendar year but this has been reviewed by the tide station and renewed so that the change of observation standard surface of every station and the history of observation instruments can be found.
